Project Boat: Initial Assessment and Work Log
Today's efforts on the boat involved looking over the engine, cleaning the deck, and starting on necessary repairs.
A huge thanks goes to Crispy, my favorite helper, who worked hours on the interior before assisting me with the exterior. Joe and Crispy have both been a great help on this project.
After looking at many boats, I finally found this one. We've compiled a list of "must-fix" priorities and started work today by replacing the shift and throttle cables.
Immediate Fix List
New raw water pumpNew belts
New raw water strainer
Oil change on both engines and transmissions
New Racor fuel filters
New steering system (upgrading from cable to hydraulic)
Major Repairs and Upgrades
Propeller and shaft remanufacturing
New cutless bearing
Entire back deck replacement
All interior and exterior woodwork replacement
This is a true project boat. I plan to film and document all work and repairs throughout the process.
